A kilowatt-peak (kWp) is the maximum power a photovoltaic system delivers under standard test conditions. It is used to express the size of a solar installation.
It should not be confused with the kWh (kilowatt-hour), which measures the energy produced or consumed over a period. A system is sized in kWp and its production is reported in kWh per year.
